Negative and Positive

Differencess:
-The negative is opposite colors than the positive.
-The negative has objects on the opposite side than the postive.
-You can clearly see what exactly is there in the positive.

Negative: Noting an image in which the brightness values of the subject are reproduced so that the lightest areas are shown as the darkest.

Because the negative paper is sensitive to light, if you put it close to another light sensitive paper, it will reverse the tones and makes a positive.

Balance

I chose this picture because it didn't have too much going on. I liked that it had a balance between the colors.

The Rule of Thirds

This picture, I chose because the whole basic picture is smoke and gray. All you can see are these three men at the bottom of the screen. walking out covered in smoke and ash.

Lines

I chose this picture because the angle this picture is taken diagonal and it seems like thhe soldiers and officers standing there are perfectly aligned to the barracades.

Simplicity

I chose this one because you can clearly see the tower. It is simple. There is no distractions around the tower.

Framing

I chose this because it seemed perfect that it was taken between 2 other buildings. It semed as though the 2 buildings to the side are bordering one of the Twin Towers.

Pentaprism- Is used in Sinlge-lens cameras especially to reverse images and reflect them to the viewfinder.

Parallax- the difference between the view of an object as seen through the picture-taking lens of a camera and the view as seen through a separate viewfinder.

Pixel- the smallest element of an image that can be individually processed in a video display system.

Focusing- the position of a viewed object or the adjustment of an optical device necessary to produce a clear image.

Pinhole Photos

Taken with a pinhole camera made from an Oreo tin by Deb Gessner. I really like this picture because you can see things clearly. The effect left on it is nice. What I think I admire most is that a handmade camera can take a pretty picture like this.

This is probably one of the ones I've least liked. Just because it's not very clear. It's not hard to tell what it is, but I just don't like that it seems real boring. It's not very sharp in any spots.

First Shoot

This is my least favorite because this students shirt caught the flash. You couldn't see the rest of the class.

This is my favorite picture of Mariela.

It's a big smile. Which makes a picture priceless.
